Item Functional Description

Format

This option erases all images and reformats the SD memory card loaded in your camera.

Protected images are also erased. The SD memory card cannot be formatted if it is write-

protected.

This option sets whether the camera sound will be muted every time when you press the

camera buttons.

Date & Time

This option sets the date and time. Refer to 3.3.3 “Setting the date and time” on page 6 for

further details.

Language

This option sets the language that is displayed on the LCD monitor. Refer to 3.3.2 “Choos-

ing the screen language” on page 6 for further details.

USB Mode

This option allows you to choose one of the following modes for further settings.

– PC / PRINT

Video Out

This option sets the video output system of the video equipment that you are going to

connect to the camera.

– PAL / NTSC

LCD Bright-

ness

This option sets the brightness of the LCD monitor. The adjustment range is from -5 to

+5.

Auto Shut

Down

[]

If no operation is performed for a specific period of time, the power to the camera is auto-

matically turned off. This feature is useful to reduce battery wear.

Item Functional Description

Reset Number

This option sets whether the file number when you take photographs will be reset. This

creates a new folder. The captured images are recorded to the newly created folder from

number 0001. If you want to reset the file number, be sure that no images are recorded in

the internal memory or the SD memory card.

Set To Default

This option returns all basic settings to the digital camera’s default settings. The time set-

ting will not be reset.

– Yes / No

Version This option displays the current firmware version of the camera.
