*Response Time: The time it takes to switch a pixel off and then on and then off again (or from black to
white and back to black). A low response time is desirable for the display of moving images without
ghosting. The Response Time quoted for many LCD monitors is specific to transitions from black to white
and back again, it does not specify the time required to switch between the many gray levels or colors
that make up an image.
*Gray to Gray or GTG Response Time: “Real world” video content contains a combination of grayscale
images. It generally takes longer for a pixel to transition to an intermediate level of intensity (i.e. a gray or
color level) than it does for it to turn completely black or completely white. For example the “Gray to Gray
response time” of an LCD panel may generally be 30 to 40 ms while the “Response Time” is 12 ms.
*MPRT: Motion Picture Response Time.
*BenQ's PerfectMotion technology is introduced to well prevent you from ghosting or motion blur effects
while viewing fast moving objects on your LCD monitor. The solution to such a problem can be explored
from two aspects, one is from the LCD technology itself, and the other is from human visual perception.
As the combination of AMA (Advanced Motion Acceleration) technology and BFI (Black Frame Insertion)
technology, PerfectMotion is not only in pursuit of achieving faster gray-to-gray response time so the
faster pixel transition speed will improve the ghosting effect, but by adopting the use of BFI technology,
the visual effect of motion blur resulted from human eye's spatial-temporal integration can also be
effectively eliminated, thus clearer motion pictures will be displayed on the monitor.
When the PerfectMotion function is activated, the displayed motion pictures will be enhanced by insertion
of multiple black frames between frames.
*DDC/CI, short for Display Data Channel/Command Interface, which was developed by Video Electronics
Standards Association (VESA). DDC/CI capability allows monitor controls to be sent via the software for
remote diagnostics.
